Except hail got better with Alolan Ninetales and Alolan Sandslah in the mix. Aurora veil is an extremely useful move and Ice/Steel makes the only ice type with more resists than weaknesses and Ice/Steel/Ground gives decent coverage. Add in an Overcoat mon like Kommo-o and you can do work. And trick Room is suited to doubles honestly

It's the thing of the two were things are suited to different metas. Dragonite is fine in Singles OU but is useless in Doubles due to double targeting. Where things with redirection like Amoonguss and Eviolite Clefairy are useful as shit in doubles but do not have a place in singles.

My main issue is that Crabominable doesn't even look like an evolution to Crabrawler.

They look like they should have been single stage counterparts and should have been version exclusive.

i just gave mine a quick claw in-game and used it like a wrecking ball.

considering how often opponents would use non-damaging moves or non-effective attacks the quick claw gave it much more lasting power.
