What are some Pokemon you never really cared for but then they genuinely surprised you. This bitch right here in Moon is kicking so much ass

I love Misdreavous and Mismagius
I used to not really care much for poison types growing up, but then when I had time to get back into Pokemon I turned a Koffing into a fucking nightmare of a pokemon in a HG/SS playthrough.
I appreciate poison as a whole much more than I used to and it's one of my top 5 typings.
Did it get buffed or something?

Misdreavus has always been something of an enigma to me, as when I was a kid I had the Prima strategy guide to GSC so I knew that it existed, but I could never reach Mt. Silver to get one for myself and check out the only new Ghost-type introduced in gen 2.
Come years later when I got back into Pokemon I finally managed to get there and snag one, and it still felt just as eerie as when I first saw it. Not really fond of Mismagius though.
I liked using it inColosseum. If I'm not mistaken, it's the only Ghost in the whole game.

I loved Misdreavus since I first saw it back in Gold. I only wish Mismagius had a similarly unique colour palette unstead of being another purple ghost, but it's still alright.

It's also the first pure ghost type.

I had stopped playing after Gold/Silver and only got to play Pokemon again during late Gen 4 so I was really excited by the plethora of new moves holdable items and more balanced gameplay than "Earthquake all the muthafuckahs". I ended up loving this little fucker thanks to Water Pulse and Mudslap being so much more fun than he tackle and water gun shenanigans early game and late game he got Recover. Combine that with a typing that negated a main weakness and I have loved it ever since
