The anime is fucked up beyond repair. It's been this way for years now. The only good thing to come out of it since DP were Alan and Lysandre.

Anime Lillie just says "I'm not scared of Pokemon, I could touch them if I wanted to for scientific reasons." Her sole purpose is that gag, aside form possible future episodes that focus on her, which will temporarily make her a real character in order to service the plot.

I like parts of anime Lillie, like how she is a oujosama in a completely different sense from game Lillie. Game Lillie (in Japanese) uses a princess-like super-polite keigo speech like Nia from Gurren Lagann while anime Lillie talks in a smug, high-class girl and uses "watakushi".
