Alola forms literally saved Ninetails and Marowak and made Persian/Muk VGC viable if not good in Smogon metas. Didn't do shit for Sandslash/Eggy though.

They are basically brand new Pokemon that violate species clause. You can't bring your bro that you've been transferring since Gen 3 and upgrade it to its Alolan Form, like you could with Megas.
