Just got Pokemon Sun Yesterday and downloaded Munchlax. How do I get this little fellow to evolve to Snorlax asap?
>kept him in my squad
>take him out to battle 99% of the time
>always care for him by grooming and feeding
>feeding potions like crazy outside of battle
Anything else I am missing? He is currently level 13.

instead of trying to evolve him by doing things liks that, how about you truly try and become friends?
take him out on a walk! take him to a park! get him a fun chew toy!

Within the boundaries of the game, I am pretty much spoiling the little guy rotten. He was the tipping point I got the game in the first place.
If there was a walk function I can assure you he would never be leaving my side.

affection is not the same as friendship

Give him the Normalium-Z and watch him have fun with Z-Metronome. I had him lead my party and he evolved into Snorlax at 21.
