If it wasn't for the focus on story constantly interrupting gameplay, and the difficulty being low even for a Pokemon game, SuMo would be the best entry in the franchise.

If you don't use the exp share then it's probably the hardest pokémon game so far. You're going to be underleveled from the moment you raid the Aether Foundation and until you beat the game.
