Using a pokemon's lower attack stat has been historically good. Special Kyurem-B is the prime example. Special Kommo-o is another. Tyraniboah in gen 3 was another. It also makes for great lures and surprises.

This gen's move relearner lets your pokemon learn moves it might've learned twenty levels ago or twenty levels from now, by some fucking sorcery.

I could take a level 1 meowth right now to the move 're'learner and have it learn dark pulse. Meowth doesn't fucking learn that normally until level fucking 55.

There's tons of counter productive move learning this gen, and i'm not sure if it's supposed to increase difficulty or what, but it just slows things down. Alolan Marrowak not getting it's signature move till you reach the move relearner, alolan raichu not even learning the move that triggers it's ability naturally (egg move) and worst of all, Sandygast doesn't learn it's signature move, which is desperately needs to function till level 50. And that's if you choose to keep it from evolving. Did they just not want people to use these mons till post game?

Hmm. Maybe I'll keep him with me for future runs then. I guess he's one of those Pokemon who will need to NOT be at a level disadvantage to be useful, whereas the rest of my team could manage it. Minior was the only one who had to 'sweep' multiple Pokemon in battles and could actually do it until an ice-sharder was switched in.

Had a different experience, practically solo'd flying elite 4 with a little Lycanroc at the beginning, and one shotted Kukui's Ninetales (flash cannon), Braviary (Thunderbolt), and took out Primarina too (not in one shot). At level 55-57. I really like Vikavolt, obviously a shame with the whole Attack/Speed problem but it worked for me.
