Using the info Ive seen so far in game and out, the most likely next game is a Kanto sequel on 3DS, or, if Stars is real, a DP remake/sequel on Switch after that.

ALola shows that GF was really struggling to make Alola fit on the 3DS, and so any thoughts of Sinnoh, the biggest region so far, going on 3DS is ridiculous.

Kanto is the smallest region and has a lot of sequel bait set up in SM so I'm going with that

Assuming Stars on the Switch is just an Emerald/Platinum etc. style remake of Sun/Moon with expanded content, I'd like the next game AFTER that to be a return to Kanto set like 20 years after RBY, also on the Switch.

They'd have to add more locales to the region to make it interesting though, a la B2/W2.
