I actually caught it cause I needed a non electric type yellow colored pokemon. It came down to mimikyu and ribombee, and I already had a bug type: vikavolt, hence why I wanted a yellow pokemon that wasn't electric type. Heard mimikyu wasn't bad, it was good even. Picked it. Your not special, you just satisfied my needs.

Mimikyu was originally going to be a Pikachu, or at most a Pichu. He was going to hatch from an egg, his parents were very careful guarding it. But something happened to said egg. Whether it was eaten by a predator pokemon, accidentally broke, or the Pichu died while it was still inside the egg. And because of it's early death it became a Ghost type but due to it's innocence it also became a Fairy type as well.

Maybe I'm crazy, but it feels like Mimikyu became affectionate 10 times as fast as any other Pokemon.
I didn't do anything differently, just the usual refresh stuff every once in a while, and he's sitting at 4 hearts already. I caught him yesterday.
