A lot of people would correctly argue that HGSS pushes it over B2W2, especially when you consider that Unova was literally the only region in Gen 5

I can't deny that Gen 4 gave us a lot of wonderful stuff mechanically and HGSS are probably my favorites in the whole series but DP left such a bad taste in my mouth.

>Found most of the new pokemon designs ugly
>No fire types
>Slow as molasses
>So many fucking HMs

People praise Platinum for being so great and to be fair I've yet to play it, but I'd still give the intro games more weight for my overall judgment. First impressions are important.

B2W2 tried to mix up the formula so I'm grateful for that, it didn't feel like a rehash to me the same way third versions typically did. Doesn't really bother me at all that it was still set in Unova.
