It gets better after the first island, which shouldn't take long.

It only gets bearable after you've left the first island, as far as tutorial hand-holding goes. There's still a lot of story after that though.

I was just as frustrated as you and fully recognize the awful pattern, especially in >talk to mom > knock on door > screen transition > cutscene > screen transition > talking > go down the steps > talking > walk left > "wrong way!" *camera pan* > TALKING

it gets better after the first island, and then you stop really noticing it by the end of the second island. Except for actually good cutscenes. And I'm loving the game to death
