Does this mean you can't pass it down if you are breeding pokemon a different species excluding ditto? So there's no way to get starters in anything but pokeballs save the Kalos and Kanto starters? If that's the cases that that's a load of camel semen.

The Johto and Unova starters are catchable in SM with the Island Scan and the Hoenn and Sinnoh starters were available through Dream World events in gen 5. The only starters you can't get in other balls are the Alola ones.
