I just beat Pokemon Sun last night, but I'm out of the loop. What's the status of EV training/breeding this gen now that bikes are gone? I need to start building my shittybut stylishAlola team for wifi.

>Bikes
Ride Pokemon are twice as fast.
>>30189496
But holding B means I can't casually breed with one hand while binge watchingNeon Genesis Evangelion.
And what about endless loop? Whats the best place for breeding in Alola?
>>30189561
Right in front of the Breeding Center. You can call out Tauros inside that small space there and just keep running in circles. The eggs hatch super fast and the farmer changes her pose whenever your egg is ready.

No bikes? Wtf why did I buy this game.
t. poor yurofag
EV training is easy thanks to SOS battles
Stoutland replaces the bike and the route right outside the daycare is a straight shoot, but there is no circle unfortunately
The only obnoxious thing is resetting EVs, which has to be done with the berries

SOS battles + power items are generally faster than horde battles, but less consistent (you can get unlucky and it'll take longer)
Pelago allows you to EV train 18 pokemon fully in about 2 days (batches of 6, so 3 'teams')
A fully customized Festival Plaza can fully train about one team per day
IV checking can be done in the box after you've hatched a few eggs and been to the battle tree
You can get 4 IV mons from SOS chaining
You can take eggs without manually boxing your hatched mons

>fully EV train one team per day
Yo what???
>>30189971
Ignore it, the pelago shit is a meme. Power items award 8 instead of 4 bonus EVs now, and Pokemon called in SOS battles double the final total.
So if you kill something worth 2 HP holding a power bracer that was called in a SOS, you get 20 EVs. Takes like a half hour to EV train one mon fully. Just throw an adrenaline orb and kill everything.
Also EVs cap at 252 instead of 255 now, so you don't even have to do math unless you want a specific spread.

>power bracer
I meant weight, but you get my point.
Is pokerus still useful? Got it yesterday.
>>30190070
>8 instead of 4 now
WHEW
With Pokerus, would that be 16 EVs from a Pokemon that normally gives just 1?
And about that SOS shit...I'm retarded, I have no idea what that is or how to do it, haven't seen anyone mention it ingame.

Pokerus + Power item + SOS battles = fully trained stat in 7 chains
>>30190157
Yep, if you have the Power _____ items equipped + SOS + Pokerus = 36 EVs per pokemon you take out. That's only 7 pokemon you need to take out to reach 252 in a stat.
Exp Share also passes on the EVs so a whole team of six can be fully EV trained in one stat in a few minutes (provided they also have pokerus and are holding the corresponding Power item).

Buy an adrenaline ball at the pokemart find a Pokemon that awards the EVs you want, weaken it like you want to capture it and throw an adrenaline ball.
It will now periodically call for help and a Pokemon of the same species will show up. Kill the help and ignore the weakened one, it will keep calling more. Repeat until your stat is maxed. (8-10 or so kills with a power item)
>>30190070
>and Pokemon called in SOS battles double the final total.
Oh so it's a blanket 2x multiplier once the first SOS one shows up, even counting the originally encountered pokemon?
>>30189866
>4 iv mons
is this confirmed? how many chains do i need?
>>30189472
relevant info.
>>30190211
Give a Fresh Water to the Guide next to the desert entrance.
She will explain chaining for IV and Shinies, but its pretty much the same to get shitloads of EV.
Basically everything is babby mode easy except for hyper training, because there is no fast way to get to lv 100 in this game.
>Want to hop on the EV/tryhard train
>Don't want to abandon my buddies I went through the game with
>>30190842
Then.... don't?
Isn't that EXACTLY what the whole hyper training concept is for?

Aren't EVs set once you get them?
So my team has all various random EVs from playing the game
>>30190842
Just put them in your livedex like I do. I put my adventure bros in the livedex and keep my competitively ready mons in separate box(es).
