Is 8 really the maximum number of pc boxes? i have a living dex in the bank and i need a way to store them in moon, os there a way to expand the number of boxes?

Put one pokemon in each box if you want more boxes now. You may have to leave and reenter the PC after you do so for it to take effect but it does work. IIRC the actual max is in the 30s.
