I think it also depends way more on the mons you pick. I'm only using Alola mons and most of them them are so slow and frail. Even if you switch on a resisted hit, you only get to fire off one move that doesn't even KO and then your mon has been defeated by a type it is supposed to beat. If one of those is a check for an specific type and the enemy trainer has a full team of that type, then you are in for a long match.
