I had Timid Ribombee @Fairium Z, Dazzling Gleam, Psychic, Quiver Dance, and Pollen Puff + Adamant Alolan Muk @Black Sludge with Crunch, Infestation, Gunk Shot, and Acid Armor.
Partner had a Barbaricle and Hawlucha. It was pretty easy 2bh. Ribombee could heal the partner and Muk was a tank.

Why did it took people this long? My first run took me 11 hours with exp share on and just sweeping by using old mons instead of new ones, at least 1 hour 45 minutes where cutscenes and 15 minutes of me laughing my ass off during Kiawe trial.

The game isn't long, it has cute features but if you sit down you can beat it in less than 8 hours. You only lose vs totems if you decide to use shitmons or non disk one nuke Alola mons like Rimbombe, Araquanid, Wishiwashi Bewear and Muk.

Only reason people are saying Tree is hard is because unlike Subway and Maison, there's no period where the game throws random fodder at you before gradually teambuilding to counter you, and that Tree is able to use Pokemon that are unobtainable without Bank and Megas you can't obtain period in SM.

From my experience, a key to the Battle Tree is Xurkitree.

Just use Tail Glow (taught at move relearner) once, spam Thunderbolt or Discharge for doubles, and the disgustingly high special attack takes care of the rest.

You'll have to figure something else out for ground types though, as the best coverage UB-OY has in that department is Grass Knot.

Finally, make sure it doesn't have a speed-hindering nature. It's so frail that going first every time is crucial.

I've just discovered a major flaw with the AI of the Battle Tree: they don't take the presence of Misty Terrian into account when they make their moves.
I've had Pokemon use Confusion and Swagger (that was especially useful) against me even though it wouldn't do anything. One even used Swagger twice in a row.
Tapu Fini ended up being better than I thought given how many Battle Tree trainers love spamming these status moves.

The thing about the Pelago is that it takes longer because it's passive. It's obviously quicker to do it manually but given that that could get old fast, you can slap a whole bunch of mons you want EV'd in speed in, do something else for a bit over half a day or even do something ingame like earn BP for that time, and come back to the job being done.

If you rather not do it that rate though, feed your mon's beans, and collect all the rare candy's the cafe will dump on you as a result, and then dump those on your mons for insta levels.
