Game Freak has a recent hard-on for Double Battles, and it shows with some of the more-recent Pokemon. Even gen 6, it was apparent.

I don't remember much about doubles in XY. I mostly remember sky battles that I could never do and inverse battles.

also they have some good IVs because I managed to get a 6 IV ditto off GTS
