102 isn't particularly slow when you have good switch-in opportunities thanks to various immunities (Grass-type nullifies stuff like Spore, Ghost-type nullifies Normal- and Fighting-type attacks) and can force a trapping situation with Spirit Shackle. He's got a couple of good options after successfully getting a trap on someone. Grass/Flying would ruin its ability to switch in on more things, on top of giving it a crippling quadruple weakness to Ice-type attacks. If you think about it, it's more human-like than bird-like, too, so the lack of a Flying typing isn't that much out of place.

Couldn't really figure out how to change him without completely veering from his original design vision, but looking through the movepool, I saw the nice combination of Intimidate, Bulk Up + Leech Life so I decided to give it more defense while dropping HP to help him tank hits better while recovering more percentage per Leech Life.

i still dont unserstand it. even an ability like inner focus has some use, liquid voice on primarina is literally useless unless she had boomburst. why the fuck it doesnt give a boost to the sound moves, it makes no sense. it's not even like they're against giving starters godlike abilities, with blazikens speed boost and greninjas protean.
