Maybe stop going to the next destination as soon as it appears on the map? The red flags are there to show you where to progress the story. I manage 30-60 mins between cutscenes once I reached the 2nd island.

I've liked everything but Z-Moves, It's a shitty mechanic and they should have stuck with Mega Evolution's. At least Mega Evolution's let you use multiple Mega's per battle. Z-Moves you get just 1 move for your entire team regardless of if your other pokemon have a stone equipped as well. What seemed like a fun mechanic was shit on by "le competitive e-sports pvp scene" trying to balance it for online battles just made it boring.
