Against major battles, I usually just tell myself I'd only use as many mons as them. If I fail, I just reset to last save. I don't use exp share, and I like using as many different pokemon throughout the game.

Running decidueye, pikachu, and lycanroc, requires osme serious strats for trials and kahunas, pikachu basically volt tackles itself to death
