Trainers and totems had extremely retarded AI for me, they never once used Z-moves against me except Hala the first time, first and only time. Totems were even worse, Lurantis never used Solar Blade against Brionne, Castform never once used Weather Ball despite it dealing 10 times more damage than Headbutt. Haunter kept going for Lick, all of Lusamine's totems had literal brain damage and I have no idea what they were doing for the whole battle.

Most early trainers don't use it though, except for important fights like against Ilima or Hala.
