>running through area where you catch Mimikyu
>barely been in the area for 2 minutes catching pokemon for the dex when a shiny mimikyu, a pokemon with a 5% appearance rate and absolutely nothing boosting my chances of seeing a shiny, appears
>can't false swipe it, no status moves on my pokemon except for toxic poison
>catch rate of mimikyu is 45, aka as hard to catch as most legendary pokemon, which means I either throw balls at it for 40+ turns or try to whittle it down
>everybody I have is 15+ levels higher than it except for a mimikyu I just caught
>it charms me down to -6 atk, whittling it down with feint attack because I think it's safe
>get a critical hit, ignoring stat changes and killing the shiny
just put a fucking bullet through my head. Just fucking kill me. I don't want to live
Just hack one anon, you already found it.

Things that never happened, the post.

Unless you're almost out of balls, it's retarded to bother damaging shinies.
>>30085931
This, seriously op its not hard
>not using a pokemon with Scrappy to false swipe ghosts
i thought you were better than this, OP
>>30085948
45 capture rate is hard.

Well fuck, my heart goes out to you. That is bullshit and it sounds like you got robbed.

He wasn't specifically looking for shinies though, so the chance of him randomly having a false swiper on his team (even though I think he did have one in this instance), nevermind one with Scrappy would be low as fuck
this is why i try to always have a Thunder Wave or Stun Spore poke around when i want to catch things
> doesn't do damage over time like poison/burn
>doesn't wear off eventually like sleep (unless the mon has an ability like shed skin, and even that is luck-based)
>makes mons easier to catch even if they are at full health (tho things like legends and other <100 catch rates you probably still want false swipe or a fixed-damage move for)
