Golisopod's Ability is good so long as your support 'mons do their fucking job and keep Creeping Crags off the field.

Multiple uses for First Impression along with the ability to switch into a more appropriate teammate when Golisopod's health drops too low is totally fine. It's not like he's a setup sweeper losing boosts or anything.

It doesn't even need to be Fake Out.

A 90BP signature move is not a bad thing at all, especially considering Golisopod's base Attack stat.

Golisopod is a pretty physically bulky pokemon, so even if it doesn't outspeed its opponent it should be able to do damage before swapping out. It's entirely your fault if you keep it in with something that is strong against it or it's known for having a coverage move that counters Golisopod.

Its ability is a bother but it's actually also helpful since it's a free Eject Button, giving you the opportunity to switch into something else without wasting your turn and letting Golisopod hold an item.

Your thought pattern is flawed, Satan. Most fully evolved Pokémon can function competitively in their respective tier. Tiers are arbitrarily created so not every Pokémon has to go up against mega fug. Golosipod will work competitively, probably in UU or RU. I see 2 viable sets:

Golosipod @ assault vest
Adamant, 252 HP EV's, 252 ATK EV's

>coverage or priority (sucker punch, brick break, aerial ace, shadow claw, rock slide, poison jab, aqua jet,...)
First Impression only has 10BP more than leechlife, doesn't drain and only works on turn 1. Not worth it imo. his hitpoints are low, so putting EV's in them and not in its defenses is the best for overall tankiness. This doesn't take into account EV spreads to counter or outspeed specific Pokémon though.

Adamant, 252 HP EV's, 252 ATK EV's

Emergency Exit has more disadvantages than advantages, but you should try to benefit from this ability if you use Golosipod on your team. Some things that come to mind are:

>use frail and fast Pokémon that have a hard time getting on the field, but that can be devastating once they are out
>wish support synergizes well with leech life

Golisopod will function as a revenge killer or Assault Vest tank. Maybe even cleanup with Swords Dance.
