Seven. Kind of? Each one has you do various stuff like "find these items" or "take pictures here" with a battle against a wild pokemon thrown in between each item/picture you get. At the end, there's a totem pokemon which gets a stat boost and calls in helpers which make it a 1 vs 2 fight.
The closest thing to "gym leaders" are the island's four Kahunas. There is, of course, lots of stuff happening in between.

Hyper training increase your BASE STATS to what they would be if your pokemon had 31IV, so they have the same stats as a 31 IV but they keep their IV (which means you keep your Hidden power and the babies will still have non-perfect IV)
