Buy the New 3DS. Sun and Moon have frequent slowdown problems whenever more than 2 Pokemon are on screen on the regular 3DS. The N3DS seems to fix it most of the time.

The New 3DS (that's the name of the specific model, not just using "new" as an adjective) is going on sale for $100 this Black Friday, if you can get it then. That's the best 3DS available and it'll be the cheapest too.
