Having beaten the league, I can honestly say that on the hardest difficulty setting (no exp share, no refresh, set style, 6 equally trained mons by the end of island 2), this is the hardest Pokemon game yet. Harder than Platinum or BW2 challenge mode.
Do you agree lads?

Yes this game has been challenging with out coverage or resistances totem wishiwashi was a fucking pain

Yes. But then again these features didn't exist before gen 6, so I regard them as an optional easy mode.

is it? i take my sweet time but my first run was just under 50 hours.

Refresh lets you cure status conditions between battles and sometimes lets pokemon you've coddled a lot avoid hits, not faint etc. I've used it remove status conditions and have yet to see any of those other effects.
