In Gen IV it was a pain in the dick considering it was tree-only encounters. At least with Salandit they're simply uncommon and can also call in another, though holy shit Dragon Rage can do a number at that stage in the game.

how was it a pain?? when you put honey on a tree, you had the highest chance of finding a combee than any other pokemon species. and it was SOFT-RESETABLE! so if you found a tree with a combee, you sr'd until you get a female one, and if you were unlucky, you just wait 6 more hours. people who can't wait 6 fucking hours without playing a game are ridiculous... vespiquen was so worth it. attack/defend/heal order/power gem. my favorite gen 4 mon!
