How hard is my ass gonna get reamed if I try to run a dark/ghost

not very, from what I've seen so far.
I might drop el rato, though. Its offenses are miserable, even with Hustle. Just make sure Grimer is Poison Touch. Gluttony and Alchemy will be pretty useless for the main story.

Grimer is great. Poison Touch gives huge poison chance with Poison Jab. It also gets STAB Crunch and Knock off now, great for Mimikyu's fight. Meowth is also a good mon.

There's plenty of Ghost-types in Alola. Once you figure out where to look, I'm sure you'll find something you like.
