Gamefreak always writes everything around him so that he's regarded as the best since he's the only player character to become an NPC. He only ever loses to other player characters in universe due to his karen faggotry. So in his entire career, he's only lost to Gold, the sun protag, and maybe Nate/Rosa depending on if you consider the PWT canon.
