You were just stupid and didn't do your homework. If you had, you would've known that it can't play unsigned games. Pre-release leaks could've been done in .3ds, but if someone does the converting to .cia, the conversion back is impossible without breaking the signatures. And considering everyone can access .cia games, you should've expected this.
Don't worry though, you will be able the upcoming cart dumps, if someone even cares enough. Otherwise you can still use it for homebrew to get the QR patches and such, and potentially to fully hack your console, if you didn't update too far already.
