I stopped for a long time after hoenn ended but I'm interested in watching the new series because it'll be different from the previous seasons. Plus I'm sure there will be an inevitable movie where ash will travel to the UB dimension which sounds rad. And also the lore to alola just sounds convivial what with all the legendary pokemon and marshadow

This for me as well. I can see why people have still enjoyed the series post-hoenn, but seeing them try something different has got me excited to give the first few episodes a try.
