The external .code feature allows you to use patched binaries for games. To use it:

Create a folder named code_sections inside luma.
Obtain a patched code.bin for the game, and rename it with game's title id as the file name (look them up on www.3dsdb.com).
For example, to use a patched binary with Pokémon™ Y, rename it to 0004000000055E00.bin.

For the lazy or incompetent, clean and prepatched code.bin files, regular and no outline. Just drag and drop to SD:/luma/code_sections or create the folder if it's not already there, load up Luma config and enable external .code

Is there an idiot proof guide for using this?
The last time I did hex/gen shit it was something I did 100% on my computer and just scanned the QR with the DS qr scanner and the mon appeared in the box. Now it seems like there's some SD card/filefuckery involved? I got cfw and all that I just don't know to use all this shit.

As long as it's Luma, it's easy. >>29972528 Put one of the patched files on your SD card. Hold select when starting Luma to open config. Get the latest PKHeX, open up Sun or Moon and open QR Reader from the pause menu, bring up a QR code in PKHeX and scan it, Pokemon will appear in the chosen box slot.

Additionally, unlimited QR scans/day, and can scan the same QR multiple times.

On top of that, I also added a patch to let us resign ANY type of QR, and not just pokedex QRs -- gamefreak's crypto would mean that only they can generate QRs for stuff like tournaments/rental teams, but with the patch we can generate them on PC.

The Magearna QR in the OP is an example of that, actually -- if you scan it without the patch, because it's not signed by nintendo it'll scan to an ursaring wonder QR. With the patch, my signature is valid and it's a regionfree magearna event QR.

no. c++ is "better" because it supports object oriented programming

otherwise they're similar languages syntactically but not identical. you can use c++ as a purely imperative language and it'll still not behave like c 100% of the time

Made the folder on the SD card in the root of the luma folder.
Placed and renamed bin as needed for moon.
rebooted.

Got Ursaring scan confirmation, nothing else happened.
