I'm assuming digital copies will release all at once, if they don't oh well.

I'm still seriously debating on whether or not I want to buy it digitally and just be a lazy sack of shit or walk a few blocks over to Gamestop for the midnight release. I'm leaning towards digital right now because I don't know if they allow no-preorder plebeians to just show up and buy the game.
I've never been to a midnight release before.

Might just be stock worries. I don't know how many copies each store gets, but a friend of mine told me that each of the 3 gamestops in my town has 150-200 preorders each. And I live in a smaller town, literally the only thing of interest is the local university.

That's wrong, it comes out on the 18th EVERYWHERE, NZ get it in stores almost a day before USA since it'll be the 18th here and the 17th there.
If we went off US time for release, NZ would be getting it almost a day after the US get it.

This guy is correct. It only works like this in the US where the timezones are only three hours apart. 6 hours technically if you count Hawaii, but it's still close enough to midnight at that point so Nintendo just says fuck it and uses EST as the basis for releasing it in the whole US.

Everywhere else will get it on its designated day of the 18th whatever time that may be for you. Except Europe who has to wait an extra 5 days for no reason.

well, knowing Nintendos track record it will be more like 12:15ish and download at a snails pace because everyone is trying to get it all at once. Thats why I preordered a physical copy. By the time I get to gamestop and come back home most people getting the digital copy will still be waiting on their download.
