Someone explain the lighter skin tones to me?
Any difference in actual skin colour, for some reason I see the blonde as Caucasian but the black haired as asian?

That's how I see it too.

First one is white, second is east asian, third could be latino/indian/many things, and fourth is indian/south asian. Could be "black" but the long thin "emo" hair makes it look anything but. I bet the cornrows fix that.

What irks me, is the Mothers skin colour, I'd rather have that. She's a little darker than the PC but just enough to warrant it being tan.

Sure hope I'm not misunderstanding your question. Blonde is slightly paler and looks like it's outlined in brown instead of black. I eyedropped and made stars of the skin tones between each of their eyes in MS Paint for a quick comparison.

Meh. Makes it easier for me. Between my yellowish caucasian skin and never having tanned since I was a kid, it sure narrows my pick from 3 down to 1. I don't know what I'd do if this took place in a non-tropical region.
