Spiders are chelicerates, more specifically arachnids. They aren't even mandibulate so they're even further away from bugs than millipedes and centipedes.

But for the record, GF has given Grass typing to fungi and bug typing to anything that's an arthropod. There's no problem with that.

Golsiopod is such a good name, they did a good job with names this gen. Though I do think Jararanga sounds better than Kommo-o
