So competitively speaking, what are the best gen 7 pokemons aside from legendaries and ubs?
>>29936463
There are none.
>>29936463
Toxapex
Golisopod (Doubles/ VGC)
Primarina's decent
Decidueye is nice utility, but mostly used for scouting and support
Comfey is niche, better in Doubles, but has priority Draining Kiss and Leech Seed, otherwise weaker Specially but bulkier Physically Florges
Mimikyu is good

>forgetting best spider
Fuck y'all
>>29936563
>mentions owl
>doesn't mention superior, anchor version of owl
Minior looks like it'll be OU for sure
>Immune to status ailments until its ability triggers, letting it set up easily
>Shell Smash on a Pokemon with 100/100/120 offenses
>STAB Acrobatics for SS+White Herb abuse
>Stone Edge, Rock Slide, EQ, Power Gem, Charge Beam, Solar Beam, Explosion
>>29936463
Probably toxapex and minior. Kommo-o and salazzle might be viable in OU. Everything else will probably be UU or lower (even the anchor and the spider). Shame, too, because I like almost every pokemon they introduced. Still plan on using them, despite their relative shittiness (looking at you, palossand).

Minior is going to be the next Trevenant, a gimmick that seems good but is way worse in practice.
shiinotic has to be up there. it gets spore and strength sap
>>29936728
The Anchor fights offensive better and the Owl fights defensive better.
Also one has roost and a u-turn free from Iron Barbs fear and the other doesn't so fuck you.
>>29936861
Trevenant has shit bulk, though, and a mediocre movepool
>>29936829
Minior has two weaknesses: Pokemon that can survive a hit and phaze/OHKO it, or Pokemon that can straight up outspeed it (with a scarf, obviously) and OHKO it. OU is in a shortage of neither. Its forme with 100/100/120 offenses becomes irrelevant if it can never obtain those stats while boosted.
If we're looking at what will be OU outside of Tapus of balanced terrain and UBs, Toxapex might be the entire list. There's some small potential with Silvally (Z-Parting Shot Pivot) and Dhelmise (Ghost type spinner that's also a decent wallbreaker), but otherwise most of the additions to the OU tier will be Tapus and UBs.
>>29936463
Toxapex and Salazzle are the obvious picks, Araquanid is very strong as well. Other mon like Golisopod have roles that are hard to determine the effectiveness of on paper.
>>29936979
I'm saying it'll be one of those mons tons of people will use at first despite not being that good. It gets destroyed by Taunt and it isn't threatening at all until it hits 50% HP. Everyone looks at Shell Smash and sees this monster threat but it can't find very many good opportunities to set up a Shell Smash. If it does get one up, it'll probably be in it's weak ass shielded form and won't be too hard to whirlwind or just straight up KO. If anything non-smash sets will probably be more successful.
>>29937140
Seems like that sums it up for this gen. Really digging toxapex.
>no triple battles for nine attacks per turn
Thanks, Game Freak.
