Politoed still has some niche uses but Pelliper is overall a better rain setter, particularly in singles because of slowturn. Politoed does have perish song and higher offensive pressure potential going for it though.

what ability gets changed into drizzle when you transfer it?
or do i just straight up need to breed a new one in SM

the mantine and pelipper buff are honestly my favorite thing about this gen

Tornadus and Thundurus should have gotten Drizzle, with Landorus getting Drought.

It would have been extremely flavorful (especially if you look at Pokemon BW). And they would have been gone for good.

I'm pretty sure since both of it's normal abilities were Keen Eye you should be able to just Ability Capsule for it, or it might just change to Drizzle automatically(if you had Keen Eye in the slot that got changed)

Still it's fucking good. Stab hydro pumps/scald, stab 100 accuracy hurricane, fucking tailwind/u-turn/defog/roost. Also somewhat decent stats and enough balk to not get destroyed by non-elettric moves.

Nah, overall Pelipper is slightly better than Politoed.
Pelipper has U-Turn, recovery and speed control, but is slightly slower and has a worse special defence.
Pelippers typing is a double edged sword: Ground immunity vs. Rock weakness and 4x Electric.
Politoed on the other hand has only two weaknesses and interesting support moves like Encore and Haze (and Helping Hand in doubles).
So pretty equal in my book
