Pretty much every other shitmon ether has an out of battle utility, or at least managed to have more versatility than a single Unown. They just don't do anything. Magikarp even learns more moves than Unown.

+new ability: Unknown Power
Unown Power acts similarly to Schooling. However, it also has a couple additional uses. First, here are the stat changes:

This is a 400 BST increase, just slightly less than Wishiwashi's. However, Unknown Power also gifts three new moves upon activating, and removes them once deactivated:
-Unknown Defending
(Raises Defense and Special Defense by one stage each)
-Unknown Healing
(Heals by half the user's max HP)
-Unknown Destroying
(A 90 bp and 10 pp Psychic move)
This, in addition to it already carrying Hidden Power, allows it to become a serious threat.

Speaking of school form: School Unown could have been pretty fucking cool. Pile that useless 72 attack into its special attack and then buff the rest of its stats up, give it access to 3 other moves upon form change or change how Hidden Power works when used by Unown's School Form. If curse can have a unique effect when used by Ghosts, Hidden Power can have a unique effect when used by School Form Unown.

It's literally my favorite Pokémon. I just want it to get something.

People have been playing with the idea of Schooling generating a movepool for it. What if it was specific to each Unown? Unown uses Hidden Power, a move intrinsically tied to IVs. I think its movepool should be the same way.

Make it so each stat has two moves tied to it. One is "high" and the other is "low". When you school, you get 3 moves.
>first move is based on whichever IV is the highest, and grants that stats "high" move
>second move is based on lowest IV, and grants that stats "low" move.
>last stat is more consistent, and is based on the Unowns form, with each form getting a different attack when it schools.

This would give every singe Unown a fairly unique move pool, while still keeping most of its gimmicks intact. It still has a set in stone move pool from its birth, its entire concept is wrapped in its IVs just like hidden power, but it still allows for experimentation with which is the best fit for your team, allows amazing coverage builds not usually possible outside of smeargle, and it encourages collecting a massive number of them just like always.

I feel it would be a perfect niche for Unown to fill.
