What would your ideal postgame battle area have (battle modes/facilities/shops/etc.)?
PWT
PWT + Elite 4 members + rivals + old protagonists.

Battle tree basically

>Battle Frontier
>Battle Colosseum
Basically PWT, complete with returning characters and everything. Yields BP and prize money. In order to acquire the frontier emblem, you'd need to clear the Champion's Tournament.
>Battle Factory
What you'd expect, rental Pokemon. You can select different formats (Little Cup, Legends Cup, Sky Cup, mono-type cup, etc.) but only mandatory one to earn the symbol would be the default cup.
>Battle Casino
Think Battle Arcade from 4th gen. Every battle has a random effect applied that could be positive for you, negative for you, or mutually beneficial/harmful. Possibly applies a random weather/terrain/room effects or inverse battle effect as well. Battles yield BP and Tokens for the game corner, which would be in the Battle Casino's lobby.
B2W2 almost had it down but their teams were tiny, i think they only had 3 mons each.
It was really nostalgic seeing the return of old gym leaders and champions etc, hopefully S/M scratches that itch.
Contest league
PWT with an Elite Four league in addition to everything it had in B2/W2.
Battle Pyramid, Battle Castle, Battle Pike, Battle Dome, Battle Arcade, Battle Tower.
I would also like to see the Battle Bingo from XD to return but that would probably be more suitable for a Game Corner.

PWT
Battle Tree
Battle Factory
Battle Specialty (6v6 against themed teams ranging from type to weather)
Battle Trial Grounds (3v1 against super totems and their allies)

>Battle Frontier with PWT in it
>Gym Leader Rematches
>A few new routes and towns like Black/White1 did
That sounds like a perfect post-game to me.
Hoenn style BF and Gym rematches.
All female NPCs from past gens that aren't black. Plus option for them to be barefoot.
I wish we as Alola Champion could appoint people as our Elite Four and they'd get teams to match.
The PWT was boring
I want postgame dungeons
Platinum was the closest they got to a prefect endgame
Fr/lg were pretty good too, and the johto games kind of cheat but an entire postgame region is awesome
Basically, I want zones to explore rather than trying to dress up the battle tower, since that hasn't been cool since crystal
8 battle arenas
a dojo where you can rematch gymleaders from the main game and from other games
Since everyone seems to praise Platinum as the king of post game content should I play it? Diamond and Pearl were my first games and I feel like revisiting Sinnoh. Did Platinum fix some issues or do I have to play a romhack?
when i beat the game i stop playing it

Platinum did fix the issues
It's incredible, really, it feels like they really payed attention to feedback and tried to make the otherwise sloppy sinnoh games into the very best pokemon game, all because they were very aware of dp's shortcomings
