Question for you guys, how would u go about traing this gym?

a) find and scroll to 6 shit mons low enough to halve the caterpie, repeat 4 times, 500 × 400= 2k

b) find 6 sub 843 grass/electric mons, for a whopping 550, repeat 4 times for 2.2k

c) find 2 sub 1k grass/electric mons and redundant 4 watermons for 50+250+500, × 3 = 2400

d) find 2-3 sub 843 grass/electric mons and 3-4 water mons for a more reasonable 1050, repeat twice = 2.1k


Normally, I'd shoot to halve 2 mons and live with 1k a go. My problem is i dont hoard many good low cp grass or electric mons. Doing c) is easy but maybe a mandatory waste of time imo.

a) and b) would take too long, most of the time would be scrolling and not worth it a bit.

d) would take a while because i dont have more than 1 electric mon sub 840 that's named for training. I'd have to name some shitty glooms/magnets/picachus only to have the gym not be there

Fuck everyone who adds a sub 2k vaporeon to a gym. Put in shit or something higher than 2.2k or 2.4k for dragonites and gyarados.

So, it's not directly PoGo related, but I did have an idea day before yesterday while out for a walk with PoGo on.

How hard would it be to program the Switch to find your location using wireless networking? How hard would it be to populate a sort of ARG-style game on it with a much more overgrown environment? How hard would it be to turn the groundwork of Pokémon Go into a Switch version of Pokémon Snap?

You're already going to be half-expected to take the thing everywhere to keep playing your games. Make one of the games Pokémon Snap and make the control scheme make the Switch feel like a camera, build an algorithm that makes the world a lot more lush and vibrant, then fill it with pokémon.

People have been clamoring for a new Snap game for ages; they'd make money hand over fist. Hell, make a Nintendo branded portable charger for the Switch that snaps onto the back, and they'd make even more money.

I went back to botting again when I heard it's back, that's the only way I have fun from this shit of a game

So, make better ones and put them up, not really everywhere, but at more than just one place. Put a switch dock into them, and let the players print off their pictures. Maybe even integrate them into the game somehow, like using points from the pictures you take at them to buy pester balls, pokémon food, lures, etc.

I mean, really, if the Wii and Wii U are any indication, then it'll want to get access to your home network for online play, which means it could just as easily sync itself to your home printer. Like that, you might not even need the kiosks anymore. You'd just print them from home and buy stuff at your own Switch dock.

I am starting to look for shitmons around CP 1000 who are useless otherwise but will come in handy for prestiging gyms. The "make money hand over fist" can only be true with some extra thing on the side, not just a game itself. PoGo already burned most of the population's hype for posting pictures about Pokemon so it's not like there's much left to cash in on. What do you think normies would care about? An AR screenshot of the Pokemon in a funny place they aim at, or an in-game screenshot of a game whose environment most people wouldn't recognise or care about?

Pokemon Snap had the sticker kiosks.
A second Pokemon Snap in 2017 onwards has no hype capital to cash in on because Niantic burned it all.

Just lost one of my last stable gyms. Sitting on three stable ones and one new gym that's got potential. I'm going to have to go back to magikarping gyms to lvl 10. This 4 coins a day shot is a fucking joke. For a game that already had no endgame, and for the to remove what little there was is preposterous.

You're at the wild limit now, 30.5 however the higher your level past 30 the slightly better chance of encountering them. I think.

If its random between 1 and your trainer plus 1.5, I assuming any over 30 reverts to 30.5. So say if you're 35 you got a slightly higher rate for encountering max wild mons and certainly for 25-30.5

Taking down a gym is a breeze, if you're over level 28. If you're level 22 it doesnr help you. You can still time out on a 2800 snorlax. It only helped save anons who were capable of beating a stronghold out and not spend over an hour taking it down.

Person #10 and #9 are fucked in level 10 gyms even if people make them again.

Roll the dice next time niantic, dont do some hugbox bullshit, test out ordering gyms by Pokemon level, cp instead of cp.

When u beat a gym 4 times now youre left 5 dragonites, if it was done by Pokemon level defenders would be in the mix. Hell my level 33.5 poliwrath would be on top of most dragonites. I'd have a reason to max out my lapras past 30/31 if it meant it would be at the top.

People would put good interesting defenders in that they love.

This system would encourage people instead of having 3+ 2750 dragonites to just max 1 out

I used to be an Instinct poorfag but I always made sure to spend some time to grab 10-20 coins a day minimum. That plus roaming around looking for stable gyms has made me able to find some and get a decent source of daily income.

You missed out by refusing to participate in the coin grind. Especially given the sheer number of days you were probably playing. I used to get like 10-30 coins a week until I finally stopped being a lazy shit and kept harassing the nearest gyms. It takes effort to give a shit about gyms but in the end, 30 days of 10-20 coins is better than 0 coins.

I don't disagree that would be an interesting system. But Niantic made the CP formula so that they can hide away all the pesky burden-of-knowledge information like Attack, Defense, and level. On the designer/management level, they probably won't go for that without some drastic desperation.

Biggest thing, #1, why not just fucking bring it back? Have more frequent events, I mean the legendaries are still MIA, same with a few mons. Trading and battling 1v1.
Fucj Gen2, save that for when you need it, focus on making the game first.

I mean it's probably easier to code new mons than new (or old) features, but that's a short term solution. Making the game actually better would help and make more cash.

Gym sniping dosen't even come close to this level of fun. Fuckin white people, he gave me the saltiest defeated look as he walked by me, but he really got angry when I told him training gyms now is a waste of time.
