BW2 was the last good game in the series. The jump to 3DS really did a number on them and when they are inevitably forced to make new mainline entries for the Switch it will only get worse. There idea of a fully 3D Pokemon world is a generic PS2 JRPG with tons of cutscenes and handholding.
