We know they are still on game (they could be hacked, and there were NPC using them). GF will make them available sometime.

I already dropped every Mega evolving Pokemon during my second play through of X/Y and ORAS respectively. This is how boring it got for me to have these crazy op mons in my team. Maybe same will happen for Z-Stones because they are a free-kill if used correctly.
