If it means that the game is filled with way more obligatory dialogue and cutscenes and a lot less is left to your choice/interpretation then sure, but that's not necessary a good thing.
The region itself does not have a particularly strong character, in fact it feels rather bland.

Yeah they're a lot of fun and a really nice change of pace from the more serious teams we've had for generations now. Great designs and music too. Just wish they had more presence, they're pretty much absent from the first two islands and their story is basically over after the third unless theres some post game stuff I haven't reached.

Love the music and atmosphere of these areas. Seafolk especially, being a village made of ships was interesting.

Being an entire abandoned town taken over by team skull, it had the right mood to it. That little event in the pokemon center was pretty fun and memorable. Getting to see where all the idiotic members live was nice, and seeing how neat and girly plumeria's room was added a bit to her character.

The ruin areas were neat too, wish they were bigger but I still enjoyed going through them.

I wish there were more like you on this board. Team skull is definitely more memorable than any of the previous teams. Guzma could've had more to his character, but the grunts definitely were much better.

The climax wasn't as great as BW but I still rank it 2nd best, it was a fun ride.

I'm more satisfied that she actually used her power to Totem-ize her team. It made her feel like a successful villain unlike say Lysandre who had the power of Mega Evolution and didn't utilize it.

Guzma I agree with, they had something going with him with his back-story. Just wanting to be the best Bug Type Trainer in the end of it all redeems him for me imo. If they do make a sequel I would like for them to flesh him out more, he has a lot of potential.

Yeah, it does have the most fun, lively and engaging interactions so far. It's too bad that the player character just does that generic pleasant :^) smile all the time though. It would have been the cherry on top of an incredible game to have the MC be like toon Link, a silent but very visually expressive protag. They could have even pushed the "take a selfie" function onto Rotomdex and let you share snaps online.

I'm disappointed that's not an option for player characters. Imagine fusing with one of your UBs and getting a Totem boost to your party, except it comes at the expense of using one less Pokemon (so 5 in OU, 3 in VGC). That could've been a really interesting strategy to try out. Good challenge mode for the Battle Tree, too.

Just curious, did I miss something or was the 5 seconds you see Alolan Oak all you see of him?

Seeing him in the trailers I thought he was going to do something but I can't find him.
