In the rough drafts, the original Silvally was meant to be able to select TWO types for itself using the Memory, which was originally one item. You'd preset the Memory to what types you want to give it and then it'd get that Dual Typing while holding it. It was decided that that would end up being a bit too overpowered and they just made it similar to the plates. Do you think Silvally would have been broken if it's ability had been what they originally intended?

I'd like to see a source on that, but either way, I don't think it would have been broken but it definitely would have been better than it is currently, and probably would see a lot more use. I'm curious about how its signature move would function under those circumstances? Would it be like Flying Press and deal both damage types, or would it just take the main type? Maybe you could program it to be whatever type you wanted as well?
