A lot of the reason is probably that it triggers kids with 12 year old taste because it has girly features but is ugly and isn't a "badass" biped.

I feel like the flavor of its design is pretty cool too. I might use one.

It's not THAT terrible as, say, Oriocario or Chimecho. If you forgo its signature ability and use Strong Jaw, it becomes a decent Water with great Psychic STAB.

It's actually not. It's surprisingly fast (especially compared to Alolamons), and it hits HARD with Strong Jaw Psychic Fangs.
