I've seen a lot of complaints about Bropod's ability, so I was wondering, what do you think it should have gotten?
A) An ability that forces the foe to switch when Golisopod's health drops below half.
B) An ability that forces the opponent to switch when Golisopod damages it past half health
I would choose A

I just want it to not activate before an attack.
If you're slower and health goes below 50%, your attack gets aborted.

This. I just want that final "parting shot" before we get switched
It's fine as is. It's meant to act as a slow pivot to your other Pokemon
>You get a hit or 2 in, which is easy to do thanks to its numerous priority options/good phys bulk/reasonable special bulk
>Emergency Exit procs after taking enough damage
>Gain switch advantage on a weakened enemy, forcing them to switch or get KO'd

It has 3 fucking priority moves, how the hell is it getting forced out before it gets at least a attack off? And it's not as if the thing is made of paper.

It should just turn your next attack into a switch-out move.
Pikachu used Thunderbolt!
Bropod drops to 23% HP.
Bropod used Slash!
Bropod retreated using Emergency Exit!

This. Since it is so slow and the switch happens immediately, you will be forced to run almost nothing but priority, effectively reducing its good attack stat. First impression is decent, but big is the worst attacking type in the game, it won't be a saving grace, and aqua jet isn't amazingly powerful on its own.
I guess the threat of priority can force a switch, and allow you to predict that and go for a stronger coverage move, but that's a big risk and effectively kills first impression

I would say scizor/forretress are still the better options then. They are bulkier, or can serve other functions past half health. Once golisopod is half health, you can easily predict the priority or play around its ability
