It's over, Pokemon is dead.
Pokémon will die alright..... after the end of life on earth. People will grow tired of pokémon and quit and move on with their lives but a new generation of kids will play the nextime Gen of pokemon. Like a cursed phoenix who won'the die.

Sinnoh and Kanto weren't completely linear. They allowed you to pick the order by which you tackled gyms in the midgame and allowed for some exploration off the beaten path on occasion.
The final island is one big cavern/cave.
At least talk about how half of the game is spent in tutorials if you need something to shitpost about.
Island 1: pokemon school
Island 2: hey here's a grass water and fire z crystal.
Island 3: here's the communication features. Oh yeah I'm the Kahuna better battle me before taking on the evil team.
Island 4: hey you're so cool. Let me heal your pokemon.
