I haven't played the games yet but this sounds fucking abysmal.

Gen 5 had the best wild Pokemon system.

Standard battles in grass.
Double battles in tall grass.
Special battles in shaking grass.

Considering how GF has been trying to make the games easier and more accessible, it baffles me that most wild battles are like this, instead of it being semi-optional mechanic like the dark grass or shaking spots.

I love it because it makes it easier to get mons with good IVs, HAs, and maybe even shinies, while also EV grinding another pokémon. But most casual players will probably find it really fucking annoying.

Reinforcement mons have higher odds of good IVs and sometimes hidden abilities, some people are saying shiny chances too

There's a held item called adrenaline orb that guarantees mons will call for help, so you can continuously chain and endless wild encounter by wasting turns every so often to ensure the wild mon calls new ones in

Standard grass singles, shaking grass specials, and something like DexNav to guarantee horde encounters (Sweet Scent, maybe?). Wild double battles are annoying as fuck except for the Totem fights where they're supposed to be hard.
