Are the RBY VC ports worth getting if I already have a living

If you like that nostalgic feel, yes. I enjoyed them very much now, even with all their flaws.

You could probably go for some interesting glitch Pokémon, like Kangaskhan with two Water Guns and Sky Attack, if moving them to the bank doesn't "fix" them.

I suspect the starter Pikachu from Yellow might be related to the ash hat Pikachu.
Gen I also has plenty of TMs only from that generation, so there might be some rare and useful move combos to transfer up.
Beyond that, you'll probably only get some kind of fancy symbol (like the bluepentagon or goldcross) or shallow reward (RSE certificates in ORAS)
