The issue here is that you are picking very specific things, when pokemon are vaguely represented by a species. That's why a lot of people have a problem with the toucan. In order to make pokemon of those exact animals, they would need to look very literal, and that's bad design in pokemon.

Some examples: pidgeot, braviary, swellow, all look vaguely reminiscent of certain animals, but have defining traits that separate them from the literal appearance of that animal.
